| Launch Party a great success - even after the floods! Insight 2 Drive a local independent, family run driving school from South Liverpool nearly has their launch party ruined by the summer weather in July! Disaster struck late in the afternoon when 4 VIPs Eddie Barnaville, Chief Executive of the Driving Instructors Association, his wife Pam, and Colin O'Connell, Chief Driving Examiner for the Diamond Advanced Test, where all traveling from Croydon. They where forced to turn back after taking an hour to travel 4 miles, through flood water David Wilkinson of the Institute of Master Tutors of Driving also phoned to say he could not make it either Professor Peter Russell founder and Director of the Driver Education Research Foundation, had left a few hours earlier, he said "My wife Pearl and I took 4 hours to travel 8 miles, when we arrived at the River Cherwell which had formed an aqueduct over the M40 we had to negotiate a stretch of flood water about 100 yards wide and between 3ft and 18 inches deep, depending on where you dared to cross. Kathy said “I was very upset at the news that some of my friends and colleges could not come as we had been organizing the party for months! However it was a great success I would like to especially thank Click the Pepper Insurance, as they kindly sponsored the party." Also thanks go to the MSA (Motor Schools Association) North West Committee who all turned up, to all the local driving instructors who came along and a big thank you goes to my instructors and my sister Joan for all their help and support making the night go so well. |
